Why This Passion (Howling Turbines, 1998)

from A Sense of Overtime by Howling Turbines

about

A wordy attempt to trace the course of a lovers' quarrel, this high-romantic epic started out with the Chapman-Torraca Fashion Jungle in an over-elaborate arrangement, became more straightforward in the FJ's later incarnations, and finally, with the Boarders, picked up the "camel beat" heard here. Given Ken Reynolds' latter-day attraction to the tom-toms, that beat was a natch for him, as you can hear in this 1998 rehearsal recording.
