Just a Word From You, Sir (Demo)

about

Here's a song from 1997 that, if you're wondering, is generally about my relationship with authority and specifically about Stalin, Leonard Cohen and God. So there.

The song went through two quite different arrangements with the Howling Turbines. Now I prefer the original version (also included in this compilation), but at the time we didn't feel it worked for us. This demo from April 11, 1999, captures the second setting, which is more sophisticated than the original but ultimately reminded me of something Davy Jones should be singing. The Turbines did it this way for a while but the song ultimately fell out of the repertoire.
