about

After the Boarders' demise in 1996, bassist Gretchen Schaefer and I started developing material with an eye toward performing as a duo. This got us singing harmonies for the first time. But it wasn't long before drummer Ken Reynolds, with whom I'd played with several bands during two decades -- including the Cowlix, which had included Gretchen -- expressed an interest in working with us again. These rehearsal recordings were made during the Turbines' first two years, 1997-98.
