Je t’aime 03:26
Je t’aime (Copyright © 1983 by Douglas L. Hubley) You wear your heart on your sleeve, but how easily your blouse comes off I wish I couldn’t believe, but once I thought I’d never see enough Now I wish you’d dress and go But je t’aime, je t’aime, I suppose Lovers love being in love — once we felt we had to break this golden rule But only when push comes to shove do the exceptions always prove the fools Now I wish you’d stay or go But je t’aime, je t’aime, I suppose Aznavour from the window sang for someone else The sun on the river shone for someone else I came to your city for something else The words on your lips were for everyone I wish you’d kept them to yourself As we sat watching the jets, you said you hate to make a long goodbye Well, we should have made it right when we met, but still you’re kind enough to cry It’s romantic but I’ve got to go But je t’aime, je t’aime, I suppose Oh, je t’aime, je t’aime, I suppose

about

Totaling six recordings from rehearsals and one from a live radio broadcast, these recordings capture The Boarders, a rock trio from Portland, Maine, in the last six months of their career together. The Boarders disbanded in summer 1996 when drummer Jonathan Nichols-Pethick and his wife, Nancy Nichols-Pethick, left Maine to attend graduate school in Indiana. In addition to Jonathan, the players here are Gretchen Schaefer, bassist, and Doug Hubley, guitarist and singer.
